Vol. 369 No. 7

Written Answers. - Garda Transport Facilities.

60.

asked the Minister for Justice the operational and active transport facilities which are available at Crumlin village and Sundrive Road Garda stations; and if these are adequate to deal with demands in the area.

I am informed by the Garda authorities that at present four cars, three motor cycles and one van are allocated to Crumlin station and two cars and one motor cycle are allocated to Sundrive Road station. I am also informed that the general practice, when a Garda vehicle goes out of commission for reasons of repair or maintenance, is to make every effort to have it back in service as quickly as possible. Also, as far as possible, a replacement vehicle is made available while a vehicle is out of service or, alternatively, local transport resources are supplemented as necessary from other Garda districts in the Dublin Metropolitan Area or from one of the specialist Garda units.
