Written Answers. - Acquisition of Agriculture House.

asked the Minister for Finance if he will give the following details in respect of the proposed acquisition of Agriculture House by the Office of Public Works: (a) the total floor space; (b) the current rental terms; (c) the project purchase price; (d) the names of the vendors; (e) the names of the auctioneers or estate agents of the vendors and the Board of Works respectively; and (f) the total fees payable by the Office of Public Works, including commission, to the said auctioneers.

The following is the information requested: (a) 165,000 square feet together with 125 car parking spaces. (b) The premises are held for a term of 102 years from 1 March 1970. The present rent which is payable from 17 November 1972 is £152,200 per annum and is subject to review on 17 November 1986. Further reviews will occur at the end of the 28th year and every 21 years thereafter. All rent reviews of the property are to 75 per cent of market rent. The lease is a full repairing and insuring lease. (c) £7,947,500. (d) Irish Life Assurance Co. Ltd. (e) Messrs. Jones Lang Wootton acted for the vendors; no auctioneers or estate agents were employed by the Commissioners of Public Works. (f) No fees or commission are payable by the Commissioners.
