The development control plan, which will outline in detail the precise nature of the phasing for the total development, is now completed. The plan is being presented to me tomorrow. It will then be possible for my Department to establish the time schedule for the whole development. In parallel with the preparation of the development control plan, detailed planning of a 30-bed psychiatric unit together with a day hospital is proceeding and it is expected that construction work will begin in the spring of 1987.
