asked the Minister for the Environment the total amount of (a) private and (b) commercial vehicles registered in each county at the end of each of the past 20 years.
The total numbers of private and goods vehicles licensed in each of the past 20 years are set out in the following tabular statement. The numbers shown in respect of the years 1966 to 1969 are the numbers of vehicles under current licence on 10 August in those years while those for 1970 onwards relate to vehicles under current licence on 30 September.
A breakdown, on a county basis, is in course of preparation and will be sent to the Deputy shortly.
