Vol. 370 No. 15

Written Answers. - Tax Claims.

101.

asked the Minister for Finance when a tax rebate will be paid to a person (details supplied) in County Louth.

I have been advised by the Revenue Commissioners that the taxpayer ceased employment on 31 October 1986, and submitted a claim to the inspector of taxes on 20 November 1986 for repayment of income tax on the grounds of unemployment. The claim has been dealt with and a cheque in settlement will be issued to the taxpayer shortly.

The inspector of taxes has written to the taxpayer for certain information which is required to enable his tax position generally to be clarified and further claims to be dealt with.

102.

asked the Minister for Finance when the correct tax free allowance certificate will be issued to a person (details supplied) in County Louth.

I have been advised by the Revenue Commissioners that on the basis of the information supplied, they are unable to trace the taxpayer in their records. If the taxpayer's revenue and social insurance (RSI) number is supplied to his inspector, together with any additional information which the inspector may require, the matter will be examined.
