The Principal Features of the Budget is a highly confidential document which cannot be released before the Budget Statement of the Minister for Finance on budget day. It would not be possible to have it simultaneously available in Cork without grave risk of breaches of confidentiality.
In order to ensure the availability of Government documents generally for sale in Cork simultaneously with Dublin, it would be necessary to establish a second Government Publications Sale Office in Cork. The cost involved in establishing a second Government Publications Sale Office would be out of all proportion to the benefit and the current level of sales would not justify it.
