Vol. 372 No. 1

Written Answers. - Cattle Headage Scheme.

138.

asked the Minister for Agriculture and Food if he will review the criteria for eligibility of payments under the cattle headage scheme in the disadvantaged areas for persons (details supplied) in County Wexford; and the number of farmers utilising the grazing lands.

The two persons named have been requested to produce documentary evidence of acreage owned by them at Blackstairs Commons and when they do so their eligibility for grants under the 1986 cattle headage scheme will be considered further. What is at issue is proof of title of the two persons named to the precise area or commonage share they claim to own and is irrespective of the question of the number of other farmers who may be utilising the lands.
