The temporary measures introduced by the previous Government in November 1986 to assist persons who suffered reductions in payment as a consequence of the new dependency arrangements brought into force at that time were for the duration of one year only.
In keeping with the 1987 Estimates prepared by the previous Government no provision has been made for the continuation of these payments beyond mid-November 1987.
