Regulation No. (EEC) 1820/80, which governs the western package electrification scheme is very strict with regard to eligibility. Article 4 of the regulation provides that beneficiaries under this scheme must be dependent principally on agriculture for their income.
On the basis of the information provided in the application form, the intended beneficiary does not fulfil the requirement of Article 4. However, electricity supply can be extended to the premises by the ESB under normal terms, details of which are available at his local ESB office.
