In October 1986 an application was made to the European Social Fund for funding over a three year period for a career differentiation programme to be run by the schools industry links scheme in Finglas. I understand that the application which was submitted under Article 3 (2) — the provision of the relevant Council decision on the European Social Fund governing assistance for specific innovatory operations — has not been regarded by the European Commission as satisfying the guidelines under the Article in question. A formal decision from the Commission is not expected until late May or June 1987.
