A meeting of the Intergovernmental Conference was held in Belfast on 22 April 1987. The Joint Statement issued after the meeting has been placed in the Dáil Library for the information of Deputies. It was agreed that the conference at its next meeting would discuss — in addition to equality of opportunity in employment and cross-Border security co-operation — economic, social and cultural issues including cross-Border economic co-operation. It is not the practice, as the Deputy will be aware, to announce the dates of future meetings of the conference.
