Following the publication of the Green Paper on Transport Policy in November 1985, a total of 81 submissions were received.
I informed the House, in the course of the recent debate on the budget, that the essential elements of sectoral policies for transport will be developed in a plan for the sector which I have asked my Department to prepare. I have not yet decided whether this plan will be published as a White Paper.
