I have been advised by the Revenue Commissioners that the taxpayers are assessable to income tax on their combined incomes in accordance with the provisions of section 194 of the Income Tax Act, 1967. A review of their joint liability for 1986-87 has been carried out and an overpayment has emerged. A cheque in settlement will be issued as soon as possible.
