Vol. 372 No. 13

Written Answers. - Enterprise Allowance Scheme.

261.

asked the Minister for Labour if the remaining amount of money due to a company (details supplied) in County Wexford under the enterprise allowance scheme will be paid in lump sum as agreed by his Department to ensure continued viability of this company; and if he will make a statement on the matter.

The directors of the firm concerned are participants on the enterprise allowance scheme. They applied to have their enterprise allowance payments capitalised to assist them in the purchase of essential machinery. Capitalisation of enterprise payments is only granted in exceptional circumstances and is subject to certain conditions. The method of purchasing the machinery concerned proved to be somewhat complex and required clarification. I understand that the persons concerned can now provide satisfactory clarification and as soon as it is received by my Department, payment will be made without delay.
