asked the Minister for the Environment when a house improvement grant will be paid to a person (details supplied) in County Wexford.

An application under the 1985 house improvement scheme had to be returned to the applicant for completion in 1986 and there is no record of its subsequent receipt back in the Department. Accordingly, it follows that a grant cannot now be allowed as an inspection had not been carried out on or before 27 March 1987.

An application had earlier been made under the 1981 house improvement grants scheme and, on receipt of evidence of planning permission, grants totalling £1,200 will be approved in respect of sewerage, bathroom and necessary repairs.
