A number of reports have been submitted to my Department by SFADCo on its pilot role in the development of the food processing sector but it is too early to say whether the project has been a success.
No decision has yet been made on whether the initiatives tested by SFADCo will be applied on a national basis.
Up until the end of December 1986 a total of 196 jobs had been created at a cost to date of £5,969 per job. Further grants in respect of the projects giving rise to these jobs may, however, be payable.
