The Eastern Health Board's financial allocation includes a provision for training purposes but it is a matter for the board to determine how best to utilise its allocation in order to meet the service needs within its functional area. However, I am aware of and concerned by the position of the student environmental health officers. My Department have been in touch with the health board to see what arrangements can be made.
