asked the Minister for Foreign Affairs the number of foreign military overflights authorised by Ireland in the months of January, February, March and April of this year; the countries to which authorisation was given and number authorised; the types of military aircraft authorised; the number of requests for overflights that were turned down; and the grounds on which they were turned down.

Permission to make overflights was refused in two instances in this period on the grounds that the aircraft concerned did not comply with the normal conditions, namely that it be unarmed and carry no arms, ammunition or intelligence-gathering equipment.
