The Deputy is understood to refer to a proposal to extend Milltown convent national school, County Kerry. My Department has agreed in principle to grant-aid such extension. Tender documentation for the project has been completed. Because, however, of the extent to which my Department's 1987 allocation of capital for the national school building programme had already been committed prior to my assuming office, I am not in a position at this stage to say when it may be appropriate to authorise invitation to tenders for the project.
