The total number of whole time students in the regional technical colleges and the Dublin colleges of technology in the 1985-86 academic year was 18,376. In 1986-87 the number was 19,200.
It is estimated that the number of students in the colleges for the 1987-88 academic session will be in line with the figure for 1986-87.
