My understanding is that police reports of this kind are not normally published. The report, which has been completed, contains several parts, dealing with the investigation proper and with the organisation and management of the RUC; these, I understand, have been submitted to the relevant authorities, including, where appropriate, the Director of Public Prosecutions. Decisions are awaited on the outcome of the report and the Secretary of State has indicated in the House of Commons that at the earliest appropriate time he will make a statement on any matters arising from the report that fall within his responsibilities.
In regard to the Government's position, as I told the Dáil on 28 May, we want to see action as quickly as possible on the Stalker-Sampson report.
