Written Answers. - Kinsale (Cork) Social Employment Scheme.

asked the Minister for Labour if he will consider the renewal of the Social Employment Scheme for 1987-88 to Kinsale Chamber of Tourism, County Cork, taking into consideration the fact that the present scheme was due to finish on Friday, 19 June, 1987, and bearing in mind the importance of having the best environmental standards possible, in evidence for the prize giving ceremonies of the Entente Florale competition due to take place in Kinsale on the weekend of 19-20 September, 1987; and if he will make a statement on the matter.

The Social Employment Scheme project sponsored by Kinsale Chamber of Tourism finished its 52 weeks participation period on 19 June, 1987.

An extension for a further 52 weeks can only be considered on receipt of a written application from the sponsor.

To date no formal application has been received from Kinsale Chamber of Tourism in the Cork NMS office.
