The proposed works did not qualify for a pre-1940 grant as the estimated cost of the particular repair works did not reach the threshold of £4,000 required by the terms of the scheme. Grants totalling £3,955 have, however, been approved in respect of the provision of sewerage works, the building of an extension and the carrying out of necessary repairs.

asked the Minister for the Environment when a house improvement grant will be paid to a person (details supplied) in County Clare.

asked the Minister for the Environment the reason for the 12 months delay in the payment of a house improvement grant in respect of windows to a person (details supplied) in County Louth; when payment will be made; and if he will make a statement on the matter.

There has been no undue delay in this case. Notification of completion of work was received on 14 April 1987 but, on inspection on 29 May 1987, the works were found not to have been completed satisfactorily. A further inspection took place on 21 August 1987 and certain information was subsequently requested from the applicant. On receipt of that information payment of the grant will be considered.
