asked the Minister for Finance the total number of secretaries, assistant secretaries, second secretaries, deputy secretaries, principal officers, administrative officers, executive and clerical officers and other grades in his Department; if there are any redundancies proposed among these grades during the year 1988; and the grades at which these redundancies will occur.
Written Answers. - Staff Numbers.
A breakdown of the staffing structure of my Department at 31 October 1987 is set out in a tabular statement which I will be giving to the Deputy.
The scheme of voluntary redundancy — early retirement has, only this week, been extended to all serving officers over 50 years of age. Staff in my Department have yet to be formally notified of the extension of the scheme, so it is too early at this stage to say how many officers will avail of the scheme during 1988.
