Vol. 374 No. 11

Written Answers. - Voluntary Hospital Superannuation Schemes.

119.

asked the Minister for Health if, in relation to the proposed scheme of voluntary redundancies for public sector workers, his attention has been drawn to the fact that arrangements in voluntary hospital superannuation schemes are not as favourable for buying back temporary service as in health board hospitals; the measures he intends to take to remove this anomaly in the context of the redundancy scheme; and if he will make a statement on the matter.

The arrangements for buying temporary service under the superannuation schemes administered by my Department are those approved by the Minister for Finance when the schemes were implemented initially. There are no plans at present to revise these latter charges.
