Vol. 375 No. 3

Written Answers. - ACOT Advisory Staff.

80.

asked the Minister for Agriculture and Food if any of the advisory staff of ACOT will be made redundant.

81.

asked the Minister for Agriculture and Food if he will accept that a major proportion of the budget for AFT-ACOT should be allocated to the advisory service; the way in which these organisations are to be administered; and if he will make a statement on the matter.

I propose to take Questions Nos. 80 and 81 together.

The terms of the Government voluntary redundancy scheme has been offered to all staff in ACOT. Until this process is completed, I am not in a position to give the number of redundancies which will arise in the advisory service. The allocation of resources between the various services to be provided by the new authority will be a matter for that body when it is set up following enactment of the necessary legislation.
