The policy in relation to the services provided at Galway Regional Hospital and the Merlin Park complex is that, eventually, all acute services should be provided on the one site in the Galway Regional Hospital on the Newcastle Road.
By pursuing this policy we can ensure that services are provided with maximum effectiveness and efficiency and that unnecessary costly duplication of services is avoided. Urology and respiratory services have already transferred and the possibility of transferring further services is being examined.
