asked the Minister for Finance if his attention has been drawn to the fact that the Talbot Street, Dublin 1, traders recently set up a development association with a view to improving the general appearance of the street which is one of the main shopping areas adjacent to the Custom House site; if his attention has further been drawn to the badly run down conditions of the facade of the Department of Education's premises in Talbot Street; if he will consider making arrangements for improvements to the facade; and if he will make a statement on the matter.

The Minister is aware of the creation of the development association recently set up to improve the general appearance of Talbot Street.
The Commissioners of Public Works have arranged for the cleaning of the stonework at the Department of Education building in Talbot Street and also for necessary painting works. The works will be completed this month.
