An extension to provide for an additional 250 pupil places has been sanctioned for Carndonagh Community School in County Donegal. My Department has recently agreed terms for the purchase of property adjoining the school site which will have the effect of relieving pressure on space in the short term and will also facilitate the planning of the extension in a location convenient to the existing buildings. The rate at which the planning of the project may proceed depends on the availability of capital and my Department's other commitments and priorities.
