Vol. 376 No. 9

Written Answers. - Letterfrack (County Galway) School.

260.

asked the Minister for Education the present position in relation to the repairs which have been promised at Letterfrack national school, County Galway.

261.

asked the Minister for Education if her attention has been drawn to the appalling condition of prefabricated classrooms at Letterfrack national school, Connemara, County Galway; if she will take immediate steps to have a new classroom extension built or to replace the prefabricated classroom; and if she will make a statement on the matter.

I propose to take Questions Nos. 260 and 261 together.

I accept that the prefabricated classroom at Letterfrack national school, County Galway, is in an unsatisfactory condition. I understand that the school authorities propose to submit to my Department an application for a grant towards the cost of providing a low cost classroom of traditional construction to replace it and this proposal will on receipt be considered by my Department. I further understand that the proposal will concern only one prefabricated classroom, the question of repairing which does not now arise.
