Vol. 376 No. 9

Written Answers. - Treatment of Persons by French Police.

44.

asked the Minister for Foreign Affairs if he has completed his investigations into the deplorable treatment by the French police of persons (details supplied) on holiday in France last summer and with particular reference to the treatment of the wife by way of detention; and if he will make a statement on the matter.

Our Embassy at Paris has raised the matter both directly with the French police involved and with the French Ministry of the Interior. My Department will communicate with the Deputy as soon as it has received a substantive reply.
