The national debt as of 30 September last was £26,039 million, including £16,055 million of domestic debt and £9,984 million of foreign debt. The bulk of foreign loans are issued in bearer form and a breakdown of the investors currently holding them is not available. Details of the outstanding foreign debt by currency are:
