Vol. 376 No. 9

Written Answers. - Tax Refunds.

64.

asked the Minister for Finance when a tax rebate will be paid to a person (details supplied) in County Wexford.

The Revenue Commissioners have advised me that tax overdeducted from the taxpayer's earnings since 6 April, 1987 is refundable by her current employer on operation of the certificate of tax free allowances which was issued on 16 November, 1987.

asked the Minister for Finance when a refund of retention tax will be paid to general practitioners in the general medical service.

I have been advised by the Revenue Commissioners that claims made by general practitioners for interim refunds of withholding tax are examined on receipt. If the statutory requirements of section 19(2) of the Finance Act, 1987 are complied with by claimants they should not experience any delay in securing refunds.
