Work on the erection of a new Garda station at Lucan, County Dublin is running slightly behind schedule mainly due to unforeseen difficulties that have arisen in connection with the retention of the facade of the former Garda station. It may be necessary on that account to extend the period for completion but I can assure the Deputy that every effort will be made to complete the works at the earliest possible date. Present indications are that the work will be completed before the end of summer 1988.
