Vol. 377 No. 1

Written Answers. - Inoculation of Pigeons.

121.

asked the Minister for Agriculture and Food if his attention has been drawn to the fact that in the United Kingdom, pigeon owners are allowed to inoculate their own pigeons against paramyxovirus; if, in view of this, he will now allow pigeon owners in the Republic of Ireland who are members of registered pigeon clubs to inoculate their own birds against this disease; and if he will make a statement on the matter.

Paramyxo vaccines may be administered either by or under the supervision of a veterinary surgeon. This ensures effective administration and guards against possible risks to our high avian health status.
