Vol. 377 No. 1

Written Answers. - Meath Road By-Pass.

254.

asked the Minister for the Environment when the revised design and preliminary report for the road by-pass of Dunshaughlin, County Meath was submitted to his Department; the nature of the preliminary report; and when approval will be granted.

A route evaluation report for a proposed by-pass of Dunshaughlin was received in my Department, from Meath County Council, on 5 August 1987. The report contains an assessment of a number of possible alternative routes for a by-pass of the village together with a recommendation as to the most appropriate route.

The timing of a by-pass of Dunshaughlin is being considered in the context of the preparation of a blueprint for road development which I propose to publish within the next few months. As soon as the blueprint is published, the Department will convey its views on the proposed route for the by-pass to the local authority.
