asked the Minister for Defence if his attention has been drawn to the fact that in County Cavan alone there are 40 ex-service men, the majority of whom have eight to 20 years service in the Army and are on long term unemployment benefit; if there is any consideration given to the service to the State by these people when seeking employment; if he will ensure that in the building of the new Army barracks in Cavan that consideration be given to these people for employment, or in any other State or semi-State development in the county; and if he will make a statement on the matter.
