In accordance with a general sanction issued by my Department the creation of offices of trainee assistant parks superintendent is a matter for each local authority. Arrangements for the filling of any such posts are also a matter for local authorities and the Local Appointments Commission. While it is understood that a small number of local authorities have created such posts none of them have been filled to date.
