asked the Minister for Defence the number of (a) fire emergency (b) ambulance emergency and (c) other emergency calls with which the Defence Forces assisted in the Dublin area due to the fire brigade industrial dispute from its commencement to the present time.

Between 9 a.m. on Friday, 22 January 1988 and 8 a.m. on Monday, 15 February 1988 the following calls have been answered by the Defence Forces in the Dublin area:
(a) Fire emergency calls 599.
(b) Ambulance emergency calls 2 (non-fire emergencies).
(c) Other emergency calls 108.
On 126 occasions military ambulances accompanied fire tenders to the scene of fires. There were 245 hoax calls in the period mentioned.
