Written Answers. - County Donegal Schools.

209.

asked the Minister for Education if she will make money available this year for a new extension for a school (details supplied) in County Donegal; and if she will list other schools in County Donegal which are included in the construction programme for 1988.

Because of the pressure on the capital funds available to my Department for the schools building programme, I am not in a position in the current financial year to make money available towards the cost of the proposed extension for the County Donegal school referred to.

The compilation of the comprehensive information sought by the Deputy would involve the expenditure of an inordinate amount of official time. In the circumstances I am not in a position to give the information requested. If the Deputy wishes to obtain information about a particular school, this information will be provided.

asked the Minister for Education the present position regarding Donagh national school, Carndonagh, County Donegal.

Because of the pressure on the capital funds available to my Department for the national schools building programme, it will not be possible to advance for the present the planning of the proposed new building for Donagh national school, County Donegal.

The possibility, as an alternative, of the authorities using a former school building in the locality is under discussion. I shall inform the Deputy of the outcome of these discussions in due course.
