asked the Minister for Education if she will confirm that a written assurance was given on 19 May 1986 to Coláiste Bríde Presentation Sisters, Clondalkin, Dublin 22, for an extension to the school to provide eight new classrooms with a gym and science laboratory; if approval will now be given for this extension; and if she will make a statement on the matter.

My Department confirmed to the manager of Coláiste Bríde secondary school on 19 May 1986 that her application for a permanent extension to her school had been reviewed and that the sanction in principle to the provision of permanent accommodation for 750 pupils still remained unaltered.
It is not possible, however, to say at this stage when construction work on this extension will commence, as the rate at which it will proceed depends on the availablity of capital resources and on my Department's other commitments and priorities.
