The Department of Foreign Affairs has been allocated £400,000 from the national lottery this year for the promotion of Irish culture abroad. A grant of £1,500 has been paid towards the cost of participation of St. Michael's Pipe Band from Gorey, County Wexford, in the St. Patrick's Day Parade in Washington, 13 March, and in New York, 17 March.
