Vol. 378 No. 10

Written Answers. - Social Welfare Payment.

152.

asked the Minister for Health if, in view of the circumstances of a particular family (details supplied) in Dublin 24 he will have a review of a disabled person's maintenance allowance application.

The application in question concerns a domiciliary care allowance. Payment of domiciliary care allowance in any individual case is a matter for determination by the health board concerned having regard to all the relevant circumstances in that case.

I had inquiries made of the Eastern Health Board in this case and have been informed that the board considered this particular application on two separate occasions, in 1985 and 1987, but found the applicant ineligible for the allowance on medical grounds.
