asked the Minister for Education (a) the actual amount involved in the financial allocation advised to each community school in County Dublin for the calendar year of 1987; and (b) any supplementary allocation as advised subsequently; the reasons for same; and if she will make a statement on the matter.
The financial allocation, original and supplementary, where applicable, for each community school in County Dublin for the calendar year of 1987 is set out below in the tabular statement which is being circulated in the Official Report. Supplementary allocations are only made where a specific need has been identified in relation to a particular school and where my Department are satisfied that an additional amount is required to meet the situation. The particular reasons for making a supplementary allocation are primarily a matter between the board of management of a community school and my Department and I do not consider that it would be proper for me to list in detail the reasons for each supplementary allocation in the case of the schools concerned.
