Statistics relating to prosecutions for untaxed vehicles offences are included in the Garda Commissioner's annual report on crime. Copies of this report up to and including 1986 are available in the Oireachtas Library.
Statistics are not collected in a way that provides the number of convictions for untaxed vehicles offences or the amount of fines collected in respect of such convictions. The requested information could be compiled only by the examination of individual records and the commitment of the required time and staff resources to this task could not be justified.
