Dublin County Council's proposals for improved traffic management at the Newcastle Road or Tay Lane junction, Rathcoole, were approved by my Department in May, 1987. The proposals provided for the closure of the median on the Dublin-Naas dual carriageway opposite this junction, together with other ancillary works. These works were undertaken in 1987 and were financed by road grants provided by the Department.
Proposals for further works at this location have not been received in the Department from the local authority.
