asked the Minister for Finance the estimated cost of the sites and construction of the new office accommodation for the decentralisation of certain services of (a) 180 staff of the Department of Education at Athlone, County Westmeath (b) 140 staff of the Department of Justice at Killarney, County Kerry and (c) 190 staff of the Department of Social Welfare at Letterkenny, County Donegal.

Details regarding the estimated cost of sites are as follows:
Athlone: No expenditure will be incurred in the aquisition of a site as the decentralised offices will be built on a State-owned site.
Killarney: While no expenditure will be incurred in the acquisition of a site, being made available by Kerry County Council, the Commissioner of Public Works will transfer an area of the land to the council in exchange for the site.
Letterkenny: A site is being provided free of charge by the local authority.
Developers will be asked to submit their own design of buildings at the three centres, giving the required new office accommodation. In these circumstances there is no preconceived estimated cost of construction.
