Vol. 379 No. 6

Written Answers. - Palmerstown (Dublin) Community School.

272.

asked the Minister for Education if, in view of the very severe congestion and lack of facilities at Palmerstown community school, Dublin 20, she can now give the go-ahead for the commencement of conversion works to the adjacent industrial building acquired for the purposes of providing the school with a physical education hall and additional classrooms; if she will arrange an urgent meeting within the next fortnight between senior officials of her Department and a deputation from the school; and if she will make a statement on the matter.

It is not possible to say at this stage when the conversion work will commence. The rate at which this project, as with other capital projects of this nature, will proceed will depend on the availability of capital resources and on my Department's other commitments and priorities.

In the circumstances, it is not seen that a meeting with Department officials would serve any useful purpose at this stage.
