Vol. 379 No. 6

Written Answers. - Dublin Traffic Problems.

73.

asked the Minister for Justice if the Garda are aware of the many hazards to traffic and pedestrians of East Road in East Wall, Dublin 3; the action that has been taken to remove these hazards (details supplied); and if he will make a statement on the matter.

The Deputy will appreciate that I have no function in relation to parking restrictions or other road traffic regulation measures.

I understand from the Garda Authorities that they are aware of the problems caused by traffic in this area. Heavy goods vehicles and others may at present park legally on East Road. However, the Garda Authorities are giving urgent consideration to measures that might be taken to alleviate the problems which are the subject of complaint. They have also assured me that the law is being and will continue to be enforced with regard to any illegal parking.
