Vol. 379 No. 9

Written Answers. - Shankill (Dublin) Garda Station.

44.

asked the Minister for Justice if the number of gardaí stationed at Shankill Garda Station, County Dublin, has been reduced over the past 12 months.

I am informed by the Garda authorities that at 31 March 1987 the number of gardaí assigned to Shankill Garda Station was 35. The number assigned there at present is 33.

I am also informed that, having regard to overall resources and other demands on Garda services, it is not possible at present to provide for an increase in Garda strength at Shankill. The matter is, however, being kept under review.
